Hello, I'm Julia
I am a lifelong animal lover and former high technology public relations executive loving life with my husband, three incredible teens, and our adopted furry four-legged kids.
Our family recently traded the Northern California Coast for the lure of the Colorado Mountains, and we are excited to call Durango home. A chance encounter at the local flea market introduced me to the creative force we know as Lindsay. When she described her dream for Nomad, my hand crafting business, Love Lucky Dog, was immediately hooked.
Love Lucky Dog got its start when I retired from my day job and decided to channel my love for our family’s rescued Golden Retrievers into my sewing, quilting and other crafting hobbies. I had been creating fun dog toys and accessories for friends and kid- or pet-centric charitable organizations and found the requests for my fuzzy, custom, and seasonal creations kept flooding in. It turns out there is an actual market for handmade, festive pet toys that look good scattered across the floor and cozy accessories that express a pet’s personality.
So, I began making, selling, and donating holiday-themed and custom-designed toys including stuffed squeaky toys, buddy bears, braided ropes, fleecy vests, collars, quilts, reversible bandanas, catnip-filled fringed pillows, and more. I truly enjoy the challenge of a client’s “what if” request. After all, Love Lucky Dog is all about fueling “happy tails for all.”
Our adopted Golden Retrievers, Murphy and Charlie, may be the inspirational “Lucky Dogs,” but I think we are the true lucky ones to share their love. I’m excited to help Nomad clients show their love for furry friends near and far.
